Grants Management Specialist

Company: TEAMGov
Location: Maryland / Washington, DC / Northern Virginia (DMV)
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

TEAMGov is seeking an experienced Grant Writer & Grants Management Specialist to support the company’s continued growth within the government contracting and grant-funded marketplace.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of identifying grant opportunities, developing competitive grant applications, managing awarded grants, and maintaining compliance throughout the grant lifecycle.

We are particularly interested in candidates who already have established professional relationships and a strong network within federal, state, and local government agencies, government contracting organizations, grant-making entities, and related industry partners.

This position requires a candidate who understands both the strategic and technical sides of grants—from identifying funding opportunities and developing winning submissions to post-award administration, reporting, compliance, and relationship management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and identify federal, state, local, and other government-related grant and funding opportunities aligned with TEAMGov's capabilities and growth strategy.
  • Lead the development, writing, editing, and submission of competitive grant applications, proposals, concept papers, letters of intent, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage the complete grant lifecycle, including opportunity identification, application development, submission, award administration, compliance, reporting, renewals, and closeout.
  • Maintain a grant pipeline and calendar of upcoming funding opportunities, deadlines, deliverables, and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with TEAMGov leadership, business development, operations, finance, and program personnel to develop strong and compliant submissions.
  • Review funding announcements, NOFOs/NOFAs, solicitations, and agency requirements to determine eligibility and submission strategy.
  • Develop compelling narratives, statements of need, program descriptions, implementation plans, performance measures, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with grant budgets, budget narratives, and supporting cost documentation in coordination with finance and leadership.
  • Ensure awarded programs remain compliant with applicable government requirements, reporting standards, performance measures, and contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with government agencies, funding organizations, contracting professionals, program officials, community partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Leverage existing professional relationships and networks to help TEAMGov identify appropriate funding opportunities and strengthen its presence within the government contracting and grant-funded marketplace.
  • Track grant performance, reporting deadlines, modifications, renewals, and funding opportunities.
  • Provide leadership with regular updates regarding the grant pipeline, submissions, awards, compliance requirements, and upcoming opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated professional experience in grant writing and grants management, preferably involving federal, state, or local government funding.
  • Proven history of developing competitive grant applications and managing grants after award.
  • Strong knowledge of government grant processes, compliance requirements, reporting, and funding mechanisms.
  • Established professional relationships and an existing network within government contracting, government agencies, grant programs, or related funding organizations.
  • Strong research, technical writing, editing, and proposal-development skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex government funding announcements and translate requirements into compliant submissions.
  • Experience coordinating with multiple departments and subject-matter experts to collect information and meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Candidate must reside within the Maryland, Washington, DC, or Virginia (DMV) region.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for a federal government contractor or government consulting organization.
  • Familiarity with federal grant systems and funding portals.
  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance requirements, including Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200).
  • Experience supporting business development, capture, proposals, or strategic partnerships within the federal contracting environment.
  • Experience developing partnerships with government agencies, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, municipalities, or other organizations pursuing government-funded programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, English, Finance, Government, or a related discipline preferred.

Compensation

$70,000–$75,000 annually, based on qualifications and relevant experience.

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be more than a strong writer. TEAMGov is looking for a relationship-driven grants professional who understands government funding, knows how to identify and pursue opportunities, can manage awards after they are secured, and brings an established network within the government contracting and grants community.

The individual should be proactive, highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of helping TEAMGov expand its government-funded business opportunities throughout the DMV region.
