What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor - Experienced position at TEAM Vocational Services?
TEAM Vocational Services’ mission is to provide a supportive, positive and nurturing work environment so that Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors (VRCs) can do their best work, without distractions. Job responsibilities include:
- Meeting with individuals who have sustained a work-related injury or occupational disease, their employers, medical providers, and legal representatives in the course of examining the employability of the individual,
- Assisting workers with return-to-work planning and the identification of resources in the community for job-placement assistance,
- At times, the VRC will assist the worker with securing retraining benefits, and
- Monitoring a workers participation and progress in retraining.
Job requirements include:
- BA/BS degree required
- CDMS or CRC credential, with 3 years experience as a VRC working with LNI required
- Keyboarding skills and Microsoft Word experience
- Ability to acquire an LNI provider number
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Access to reliable transportation for work-related travel
- Must reside in WA State, or within a reasonable commuting distance
Preferred:
- MA/MS degree
- Bilingual
- Experience handling Legal, Social Security, LTD, OWCP, and DBA claims
Compensation: Total annual compensation is $60,000–$90,000, depending on experience, education, credentials, and individual performance. Pay includes an hourly rate plus bonuses. Actual earnings will vary based on total hours worked and individual productivity.
