Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Certified Welding Inspector / Construction Inspector and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of construction projects. Perform daily inspection of construction projects monitoring quality and adherence to building code requirements, construction drawings and project specifications.
Inspections may include visual/physical inspection on structural steel, concrete, masonry, fireproofing, etc., verifying conformance with the plans and specifications. You will prepare inspection reports and provide written documentation of inspection and testing.
Responsibilities
- NDT Inspections
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Perform visual inspection (VT) and ultrasonic testing (UT) in accordance with approved procedures.
- Maintain calibration of NDT equipment and verify condition before use.
- Interpret test results accurately and provide clear acceptance/rejection decisions per applicable standards.
- Document all findings through inspection reports, daily handoffs, and nonconformance reports.
- Communicate inspection results to the relevant project team members.
Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of NDT techniques and applications.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and industry codes.
- Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills.
Qualifications
At least one or more certifications in the following areas:
- ICC certification (Structural Steel – Bolting, Structural Steel – Welding).
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Level II certification (Visual Testing (VT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Dye Penetrant Testing (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT).
Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or technical degree
- Experience: 2 years of hands-on NDT experience in related industries
- 1 year experience in construction inspection preferred.
- A valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
