Team Select Homecare of Valparaiso is actively searching for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our Private Duty nursing team!

We are seeking full-time nursing support (40 hours per week) for a pediatric patient on Mondays through Friday during daytime hours. Scheduling is flexible, and the family is happy to collaborate with your availability to create a schedule that works well for everyone.
This specific position provides a unique opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) to work one on one and provide in-home care for a medically complex pediatric patient in a family home setting. The patient requires total assistance with skilled nursing care and ADLs.

Skilled care includes:
- G/J-tube feedings and management
- Medication administration
- Seizure monitoring and protocol implementation
- Assistance with transfers, bathing, and daily care
- Bowel and bladder care
- Wheelchair and mobility support
- Accompanying the patient to medical and therapy appointments
Prior to working with a patient, we will provide you the opportunity to have a meet and greet with the patient and their family. This serves as a good opportunity to see the environment where you'd be working and ask questions in regard to the daily routine of the patient.

Responsibilities
- Monitor patient's condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and education.
- Observe and interpret patient's symptoms and communicate to the case management nurse.
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care Plans of Care for their patient.
- Adjust and administer patient medication and provide treatments according to physician’s orders.
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces, preparing beds etc.).
- Provide instant medical care in emergency situations.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families.
- Expand knowledge and capabilities by attending educational workshops, conferences, etc.

Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- One (1) year experience in an acute care setting or equivalent experience PREFERRED.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Current, valid state-issued driver's license or State ID
Pay: $38.00 - $40.00 per hour
