Duties
- Assist resident with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Support client with medication administration following proper protocols and safety procedures
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Engage resident in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow infection control practices, including cleaning and sanitizing care areas regularly
- Manage behavioral issues or memory care needs associated with dementia with patience and understanding
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care
- Adhere to safety standards such as safe patient lifting practices and emergency response protocols including CPR and First Aid
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, and geriatrics is essential
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is advantageous
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications in medication administration or safe patient handling are a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate standard passenger vehicles when needed for client transportation
- Strong communication skills to support client engagement and team collaboration
- Demonstrated compassion, patience, and dedication to providing high-quality personal care
- Valid driver’s license if operating a vehicle for client appointments or errands
