Position Summary

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for leading and managing end-to-end distribution center operations across multiple shifts. This role provides direct leadership to four salaried Production Supervisors and their teams, ensuring operational excellence in Receiving, Unloading, Inbound and Outbound Sortation, Replenishment, Stocking, Order Selecting, Inventory, and Outbound Operations.

The ideal candidate brings a strong passion for team development, process improvement, and performance management, driving measurable results in productivity, quality, and cost efficiency. This leader ensures warehouse operations align with company goals while cultivating a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.

Essential Functions

·        Leadership & Team Development: Provide direction to four Production Supervisors and their teams across three shifts; mentor and coach supervisors to build a strong pipeline of leadership talent.

·        Operational Oversight: Ensure smooth daily execution of receiving, stocking, order selecting, sortation, inventory, and shipping.

·        Performance-Driven Culture: Build and maintain accountability through clear KPIs, regular coaching, and recognition of results.

·        Continuous Improvement: Identify, design, and implement process improvements using data and problem-solving initiatives to reduce waste, downtime, and errors while driving efficiency and accuracy.

·        Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with transportation, supply chain, customer service, HR, and other teams to align warehouse operations with company goals.

·        Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, FDA, and company safety standards, promoting a strong safety culture across shifts.

·        Labor & Staffing: Monitor staffing levels, scheduling, and productivity to balance operational demands with cost efficiency.

·        KPI Reporting: Track and review operational metrics such as dock-to-stock time, pick accuracy, on-time shipments, and labor utilization.

·        Project Support: Assist in operational projects such as WMS enhancements, automation pilots, and strategic initiatives.

·        Any additional task assigned by manager. Responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

We’re seeking a hands-on warehouse leader who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. The Distribution Center Manager should be confident in leading both salaried and hourly team members, balancing the demands of daily execution with a long-term focus on team development and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field preferred.

·        3 years of warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing operations management experience.

·        Demonstrated ability to lead and develop salaried supervisors and their teams across multiple shifts.

·        Track record of driving process improvements, performance management, and measurable results.

·        Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to make data-driven decisions.

·        Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across levels.

·        Flexibility to work across shifts (days, nights, and Sundays as business needs require).

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; WMS/AS400 experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Regular standing, walking, and manual activity in warehouse and dock environments; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs; visual and auditory acuity required.

Work Environment / Schedule

·        Office and warehouse settings with regular exposure to temperature changes, equipment noise, and material handling areas in warehouse.

·        This role requires flexibility and regular presence across all warehouse shifts to provide leadership and support:

§ 1st shift: Mon–Fri, staggered 5–8 AM start

§ 2nd shift: Sun–Thu, 4 PM start

§ 3rd shift: Sun–Thu, 8 PM start

·        Very limited travel for trainings or industry events may be required.
