Role Description The Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in Memphis, TN. This position is responsible for receiving and prioritizing incoming transport requests, triaging calls, and assigning appropriate units for emergency and non-emergency medical and behavioral health transports. The Dispatcher monitors unit status and location, updates schedules, and coordinates with EMTs, paramedics, healthcare facilities, and other team members to ensure timely and safe patient movement. Daily duties include using dispatch software and communication systems, documenting call details accurately, maintaining clear radio and phone communication, and escalating issues when needed. The role also involves collaborating with leadership on operational efficiencies, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to a professional, patient-centered service environment.

• Strong communication and customer service skills, including clear phone and radio communication and professional interaction with patients, clinicians, and facility staff.
• Operational and coordination abilities, such as call triage, task prioritization, time management, and effective decision-making in fast-paced situations.
• Technical skills with dispatch or scheduling software, data entry, and basic computer proficiency (e.g., email, spreadsheets, and electronic documentation systems).
• Attention to detail, accuracy in recording call information, and adherence to protocols, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure, work in a 24/7 environment with varying shifts, and collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary EMS team.
• Previous dispatch, EMS, healthcare, or public safety experience preferred; understanding of local geography and transport routes is helpful.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in EMS communications, public safety dispatching, or related fields is an advantage.
• Willingness to participate in ongoing training, quality improvement initiatives, and support the organization’s mission of patient-centered, reliable mobile health care.
