Low Voltage Foreman - Commercial Construction | Salt Lake City

Crew Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead a team of low voltage technicians across active commercial construction job sites, corporate offices, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and small data centers, setting daily goals, managing productivity, and solving problems in real time
• Handle workforce planning for your projects: crew scheduling, labor tracking, timesheet completion, and coordination with contract workers when scope requires additional hands
• Train technicians in installation methods, test equipment operation, safety procedures, and quality standards across varied project environments
• Identify and address personnel issues on site, escalating to the Superintendent or Project Manager when appropriate

Project Execution & Quality Control

• Own daily execution of structured cabling, fiber optic, and low voltage infrastructure scopes, including Cat6/Cat6A copper, OM3/OM4 multimode fiber, OS2 single-mode, pathway systems, cable tray, and conduit
• Navigate the coordination requirements of occupied environments, active hospitals, functioning school campuses, and operating businesses including scheduling discipline, noise and dust management
• Manage Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs), tracking scope changes for materials and labor accurately and ensuring proper documentation flows to the Project Manager and estimating team
• Monitor job progress against schedule daily, track costs using Bluebeam and project reporting tools, and adjust crew deployment and material staging to protect the timeline

Materials & Site Management

• Manage on-site materials from receipt through installation: receiving, staging, inventory tracking, shortage identification, and warehouse coordination
• Order supplies and coordinate deliveries in alignment with the project schedule
• Maintain clean, organized, and compliant job site conditions, particularly important in healthcare and education environments where infection control, noise ordinances, and public safety standards apply

Safety & Compliance

• Lead daily safety compliance: toolbox talks, hazard identification, PPE enforcement, and adherence to site-specific safety plans
• Understand and enforce the environment-specific requirements each project demands

Customer & Stakeholder Communication

• Serve as the primary LINX representative at your assigned sites, communicating professionally and proactively with clients, facilities managers, IT directors, general contractors, and building management
• Participate in pre-bid walkthroughs and post-project reviews with Project Managers, Estimating, and Sales

• Escalate scope conflicts, schedule risks, and customer concerns to the Project Manager immediately

Minimum Requirements

Experience

• 3-5 years of hands-on low voltage or structured cabling installation experience with demonstrated mastery of tools, methods, and quality standards across copper and fiber systems
• 1-2 years in a field leadership role, Lead Technician, working Foreman, or equivalent
• Experience on large or complex commercial construction projects, healthcare, education, or multi-tenant commercial environments preferred

Technical Skills

• Full mastery of low voltage tools, equipment, and installation processes. You can do everything you're asking your crew to do and you can teach it.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, Scope of Work, Bill of Materials, as-builts, blueprints, and project schedules
• Proficiency with industry-standard test equipment and the ability to run tests, interpret results, troubleshoot failures, and produce clean documentation
• Familiarity with project cost tracking and Bluebeam Revu for document management and markup
• Working knowledge of applicable industry standards, BICSI, Division 27, etc.

Leadership & Communication

• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and hold accountable a crew of 10-20 technicians in a fast-paced construction environment
• Strong written and verbal communication in English. You will interact directly with clients, GCs, and internal teams on a daily basis.
• Ability to manage staffing, scheduling, timesheets, and change order documentation accurately and on time

• Valid driver's license and auto insurance required

This Role Is Probably Not Right For You If

• Your low voltage experience is only in residential construction
• You don't have hands-on experience terminating jacks, patch panels, and 66/110 blocks or running Fluke certification tests in the field
• Your background is IT supervision or help desk without hands-on structured cabling installation experience
• You’ve never overseen the work of 10 technicians.

Preferred (Not Required)

• BICSI Installer 1 or Installer 2 certification
• BICSI Technician certification
• Confined Space Certification
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
• Manufacturer-specific certifications

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Rate: $27.00 to $38.00/hour, depending on experience
