Job Purpose:
- As a Body Shop Estimator, your primary purpose is to accurately assess vehicle damage and provide precise repair estimates to customers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring customer satisfaction by delivering transparent and reliable information, while also supporting the efficient operation of the body shop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate damaged vehicles to determine necessary repairs and estimate the cost of parts and labor.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain the repair process, costs, and timelines.
- Collaborate with technicians and other body shop staff to ensure accurate and efficient repair estimates.
- Prepare detailed and accurate written estimates and documentation for insurance claims and customer records.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, repair techniques, and vehicle technologies.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as industry regulations and safety standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly and professionally.
- Assist in managing the workflow and scheduling of repairs to optimize shop productivity and customer satisfaction.
Required Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in automotive repair or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an automotive body shop environment.
- Proven track record of accurately estimating repair costs and timelines.
- Experience with insurance claims processing and negotiation.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes and techniques.
- Proficiency in using estimating software and tools, such as CCC ONE or Mitchell.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers, insurance adjusters, and team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple estimates and tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
