Lead Irrigation Technician

TEAL Irrigation
Loveland, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 3/26/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 5/22/2026

Overview
TEAL Irrigation is building a high-performance irrigation organization and is looking for a Lead Irrigation Technician to own field operations. This is a hands-on role with leadership potential for someone who takes pride in doing things the right way, solving problems independently, and holding a high standard for themselves and the team. If you prefer being told exactly what to do all day, this is not the role for you. If you take ownership, think critically, want to help build something that scales, and want to be rewarded for those efforts, keep reading.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • Daytime service routes
  • Typical workdays range from 8–10 hours depending on the season
  • Expected hours: 30–50 hours per week during peak season

What You’ll Own

  • Perform start-ups, audits, repairs, and winterizations with minimal oversight
  • Troubleshoot valves, wiring, controllers, lateral lines, and system performance issues
  • Lead irrigation installations, upgrades, and system modifications
  • Ensure work is completed right the first time—no shortcuts, no sloppy fixes
  • Lead, train, and hold technicians accountable to quality and production standards
  • Set daily priorities, routes, and expectations in the field
  • Communicate clearly with clients and explain problems and solutions with confidence
  • Maintain accurate job notes, materials tracking, and billing inputs
  • Keep trucks, tools, and inventory clean, organized, and ready
  • Identify problems in the field and bring solutions—not just issues
  • Support job scoping, basic estimating, and identifying upsell opportunities

What We’re Looking For

  • 5 years of irrigation service, repair, and installation experience – install only experience need not apply.
  • Ability to independently diagnose irrigation system issues and complete repairs correctly
  • Proven ability to lead or take ownership in the field
  • Strong communication with customers and team members
  • High standards for quality, efficiency, and professionalism
  • Consistent reliability, punctuality, and preparedness
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all Colorado conditions

What This Role Is Not

  • A helper position where someone else solves the problems
  • A “clock in, clock out, do the bare minimum” job
  • A role for someone who avoids responsibility or accountability

Compensation & Benefits

  • $32–$42 per hour depending on experience
  • Performance-based incentives tied to production, quality, and contribution
  • Return Bonus paid after completing 90 days in the following season
  • Company vehicle and tools provided

  • Opportunity to help build and shape the irrigation division of a growing company
  • Small team environment with high professional standards
  • Company vehicle and tools provided

What Success Looks Like

  • Jobs are completed correctly the first time with minimal callbacks
