The Quality Management System Manager will lead, manage, audit and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure compliance with AS9100 Rev D, ISO 9001:2015, and applicable aerospace, drone, and government regulatory requirements.

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management, including internal auditing, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is highly knowledgeable in aerospace industry standards and has a proactive approach to aligning the company’s processes with customer and regulatory expectations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Own, develop, implement, and maintain the QMS to meet AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Ensure that all QMS processes are properly documented, controlled, and followed throughout the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits, reviews and updates of quality procedures, work instructions, and policies to maintain compliance and relevance.
  • Ensure the company meets all applicable aerospace, drone, and government regulations, including those related to product safety, export compliance, and quality standards.
  • Stay current with regulatory changes and industry best practices and incorporate these into the QMS and company processes as necessary.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to address regulatory and compliance issues as they relate to AS9100 and other relevant standards.
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct internal audits to assess compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015 requirements.
  • Lead external audits and certification processes, liaising with auditors and ensuring all requirements are met for successful certification or recertification.
  • Develop and implement quality training programs for employees to ensure an understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001:2015, and regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a quality-focused culture across all levels of the organization by promoting awareness, accountability, and continuous learning in quality management practices.
  • Ensure all quality-related documentation, records, and certifications are properly maintained, controlled, and accessible for audit purposes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE), Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), or AS9100 Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a quality management role, preferably in the aerospace, drone, or defense industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of AS9100 Rev D, ISO 9001:2015, and QMS principles.
  • Familiarity with aerospace, drone, and government regulatory requirements and their application to quality processes.
  • Proficiency with quality tools (e.g., root cause analysis, FMEA) and quality management software.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience interfacing with customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Arena QMS software, and ERP systems.
  • Ensures accuracy in all quality records, documentation, and processes.
  • Identifies potential risks and areas for improvement in advance and implements necessary changes.
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams to promote quality objectives across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement Mindset to actively seek opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods in an office and manufacturing environment.
  • Occasional lifting of materials, documents, or equipment up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach as needed to review production processes and inspect products.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing setting where exposure to noise, dust, and machinery is common.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity to review technical documents, perform inspections, and work with quality-related tools and equipment.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for supplier audits, customer meetings, or certification processes.
