The Graettinger-Terril Community School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Library Associate to serve our Middle School/High School students and staff. The successful candidate will foster a welcoming learning environment, support literacy initiatives, assist students and staff with library resources and technology, and maintain the daily operations of the school library.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the MS/HS library.
- Assist students and staff in locating and utilizing library resources.
- Maintain library collections, including cataloging, shelving, and inventory.
- Promote reading and literacy through displays, activities, and programs.
- Support classroom teachers with instructional materials and resources.
- Assist students with technology and research skills.
- Process new materials and maintain library records.
- Supervise students in the library setting.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration to support student learning.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Prior library, educational, or clerical experience preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.
- Proficiency with technology and willingness to learn library management systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Successful completion of background checks as required by Iowa law.
