Position: K–4 Title I Reading Teacher
Location: Demoney Elementary, Estherville Lincoln Central Community School District
Summary:
The K–4 Title I Reading Teacher provides targeted reading instruction and intervention to support students in developing foundational literacy skills. This position works collaboratively with classroom teachers and support staff to implement evidence-based practices, monitor student progress, and ensure equitable access to high-quality literacy instruction aligned to district curriculum and federal Title I requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted reading instruction and interventions to identified students in grades K–4
- Utilize evidence-based literacy practices aligned to Iowa Core Standards and district curriculum
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to support differentiated instruction and student learning
- Monitor student progress using assessment data and adjust instruction accordingly
- Assist in identifying students eligible for Title I services and support intervention planning
- Maintain accurate records and documentation required for Title I compliance
- Participate in MTSS/RTI processes, including Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and meetings
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and reading support strategies
- Support a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and confidence in literacy
- Participate in professional learning communities (PLCs) and ongoing professional development
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal Title I regulations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Valid Iowa teaching license issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners
- Reading endorsement or willingness to obtain preferred
