Grundy Center is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Junior High Softball Coach to help student-athletes connect, learn, and grow through participation in our softball program. This position is responsible for teaching fundamental skills, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship, and creating a positive, engaging experience for all student-athletes.
Essential Functions
- Plan and conduct effective, engaging practices focused on fundamental skill development and position-specific instruction.
- Support student-athlete growth by teaching teamwork, sportsmanship, and game fundamentals.
- Prepare for and assist with game day operations, including warm-ups, equipment setup, and player readiness.
- Provide in-game support, including guidance, encouragement, and constructive feedback to student-athletes.
- Foster positive relationships with students while promoting academic success, character development, and a positive team culture.
- Assist in building and maintaining student participation and engagement in the softball program.
- Communicate effectively with players, families, and school staff as needed.
- Maintain basic records such as attendance and assist with program organization as needed.
- Collaborate with coaching staff to ensure consistency in expectations, instruction, and program goals.
