Spirit Lake High School seeks a passionate and innovative Family & Consumer Sciences (FCS) Teacher beginning in the 2026–27 school year. We are looking for an educator who understands the critical role FCS plays in preparing students for life beyond high school through real-world learning experiences.

Qualifications and responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging instruction in Family & Consumer Sciences courses that prepare students with practical life and career skills.
- Embed employability skills such as communication, collaboration, problem solving, and responsibility into coursework.
- Build positive relationships with students and families to support student growth and engagement.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs.
- Integrate technology to enhance student learning.
- Collaborate with staff to support student success and career readiness initiatives.
- Maintain a classroom environment that is inclusive, supportive, and focused on student growth.
- Valid Iowa teaching license with Family & Consumer Sciences endorsement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth
