Works with individual students and/or small groups student to reinforce learning of content or skills initially introduced by the teacher.2. Assists the teacher in devising special strategies for reinforcing content or skills based on a sympathetic understanding of the students, their needs, interests and abilities.3. Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes.4.
Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.5. Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, field trips and escorts students around the building.6. Reads to students, listens to the students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with student.7. Assists the students in the library, music, art, PE, and Spanish.8.
Assists the teacher with parent communication, daily journals, etc.9. Checks and records the students attendance and other charting duties as requested by the teacher.10. Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about students.11. Serves as a source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.12.
Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.13. Participates in in-service training programs, as assigned.14. Performs other duties related to the students/classroom, as requested by the supervising teacher.15.
