Bus #7-24 - Horse Bus
2026-2027 School Year
A regular route bus driver position is available for the 2026-2027 school year. This opening is for Bus 7-24, the Horse bus, which currently goes East out Hwy 92 with stops on the following roads: Redwood, Spruce, 285th St., Quince Ave., 275th St., Airport Road, 260th St., Kids Corral on E. Washington St., 2 stops on E. 3rd St., and travels between each school building within the City of Washington.
All WCSD bus routes are fluid and are subject to change at any time as deemed necessary by district administration to meet state requirements, student transportation needs, and district requirements.
Applicants must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with passenger, air brake, and school bus endorsements. Applicants must also have a valid and current Driver Authorization from the Iowa Department of Education, and must be current on their annual training. Applicants must pass a pre-employment drug screening, a child and dependent adult abuse background checks, a driving history check, and must have a currently valid DOT physical.
Once employed, the driver would be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Deadline to apply is 3:00 PM, July 1, 2026. Current regular route drivers who apply will be assigned the route based upon seniority. If there are no regular route driver applicants, the route will be assigned to substitute drivers who apply based upon hire date. This position will remain open until filled.
