Assistant Varsity Football Coach

Colfax-Mingo High School is seeking a driven, energetic, and committed Assistant Varsity Football Coach to join our program for the 2026 season. We are looking for a coach who is passionate about developing student-athletes, contributing to a competitive program, and helping build a culture of accountability, toughness, and pride.
The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the Head Coach and coaching staff to support all aspects of the program while positively impacting student-athletes on and off the field. This position plays a key role in advancing our mission of Fostering Excellence for All.

Responsibilities
* Assist the Head Coach in all aspects of the varsity football program
* Coach a specific position group and support game planning and film breakdown
* Help implement offensive, defensive, and/or special teams systems
* Support the development of a strong program culture centered on discipline, accountability, and effort
* Assist with offseason strength, conditioning, and skill development programs
* Build positive relationships with student-athletes and serve as a mentor and role model
* Support the development of younger levels (JV/9th) and contribute to program continuity
* Promote academic success, character development, and leadership among student-athletes
* Assist with equipment management, practice organization, and game-day operations
* Ensure compliance with all school, conference, and IHSAA regulations

Qualifications
* Previous football coaching experience preferred (high school or collegiate level)
* Strong understanding of football fundamentals, techniques, and player development
* Ability to work collaboratively within a coaching staff and follow program direction
* Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building skills
* Passion for mentoring student-athletes and contributing to a positive team culture
* Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization (or ability to obtain prior to the season)
