The Assistant Archery Club Coach assists the Head Coach in supervising and developing the East Union Archery Club. The Assistant Coach supports student instruction, safety supervision, tournament preparation, and compliance with NASP standards. The program operates as an extracurricular club activity of East Union Community School District.
Qualifications
- Valid Iowa Coaching Authorization or Coaching Endorsement.
- NASP Basic Archery Instructor (BAI) certification preferred.
- Ability to supervise and work effectively with students.
- Knowledge of NASP safety procedures and competition standards preferred.
- Successful completion of all required district employment requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Coach with the operation of the East Union Archery Club.
- Help instruct participants in archery fundamentals, range safety, and competition preparation.
- Monitor adherence to NASP safety procedures during all club activities.
- Assist with equipment setup, maintenance, storage, and inventory.
- Supervise participants during practices, competitions, travel, and club activities.
- Assist with tournament registration, scoring, and event management.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility, and positive conduct.
- Assist with fundraising and promotional activities as directed by the Head Coach.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel.
- Perform duties assigned by the Head Coach, Activities Director, or Principal.
NASP Compliance
The Assistant Coach shall assist in maintaining compliance with all National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) rules, safety requirements, equipment standards, and tournament regulations. NASP places a strong emphasis on instructor training, standardized equipment, and safe range operation.
