What are the responsibilities and job description for the After School Program Director/PK Teacher Associate position at TeachIowa?
This joint position would involve helping support students and teachers at in the preschool setting and help in leading the after school program. From approximately 9:30-2:30pm, the individual would work with students in classrooms who have special needs, participate in student instruction with classroom teachers, fill in for staff absences (of non-licensed personnel), supervise some recess duties, and help supervise the lunchroom. Roles and responsibilities may adjust throughout a year and year-to-year, so flexibility is key. This individual would work 2:30-5:30pm directing the after school program, which supports students ages 3-12. There are additional trainings and background checks that go along with the after school program responsibilities, and these can be clarified by administration at time of inquiry. To help in the preschool setting, a person must hold a CDA credential or be willing to begin the work to earn one within 2 years time.
