St. Mary's High School in Storm Lake, Iowa, is seeking a 9-12 Spanish & ELL teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role may expand into some elementary or middle school Spanish instruction in the future.
St. Mary's is a small, faith-based school system located in a beautiful lakeside community (Storm Lake, IA). Our school system emphasizes high-quality academics and structure, as well as faith-based opportunities for student growth. We also pride ourselves in a family-like atmosphere for students, staff, and parents alike. We have small class sizes, few discipline issues, and a positive, supportive environment to work in. Applicants must hold an active teaching license within the state of Iowa. They must be a good collaborator who is willing to co-teach and work well with others, and also support building-wide ELL instruction and goals, in addition to formal Spanish language instruction at the high school level. They must be willing to complete relevant trainings upon hire, if not already done (Mandatory Reporter, Bloodborne Pathogens, etc.), and they must also pass a background check and complete a diocesan Virtus Safe Environment training (entirely done online) before hiring.
St. Mary's is a school on the Teacher Cancellation Low Income Directory, so by teaching here you would be eligible to apply to have student loans forgiven.
