Position Overview
We are hiring an experienced Marine Diesel Technician with extensive knowledge of MTU engines (Series 2000 & 4000).
This position requires 15 years of hands-on experience in marine engine diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls.
The ideal candidate is a career technician who values teamwork, accuracy, and ongoing learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of MTU, Volvo Penta, and CAT marine engines
- Lead and complete major engine overhauls and repowers
- Conduct routine maintenance and sea trial testing
- Document work thoroughly in service reports
- Mentor and train junior technicians in best practices and manufacturer procedures
- Maintain clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspaces
Qualifications
- 15 years of professional experience as a marine diesel technician
- Expert knowledge of MTU 2000 & 4000 Series engines
- Background with Volvo Penta and CAT marine engines (a plus)
- Proven ability to perform diagnostics using OEM tools and software
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and work aboard yachts and in confined spaces
