As a Sanitation Team Member, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards of our bakery production facility. This position cleans and sanitizes production equipment, processing areas, and facility workspaces while supporting food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. You will work as part of a team to keep the facility clean, safe, and ready for production operations.
This is a full-time position reporting to the Sanitation Supervisor and the General Manager at our bakery facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We currently have the following overnight shift openings:
- Shift 1: 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM
- Shift 2: 12:00 AM - 8:00 AM
Scheduled days may vary based on production needs and may include weekends, holidays, and overtime opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize production equipment, machinery, and work areas according to company procedures
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment for deep cleaning and sanitation
- Follow food safety, sanitation, chemical handling, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Complete sanitation documentation and cleaning records accurately
- Dispose of waste materials and maintain cleanliness throughout the facility
- Inspect equipment and production areas to ensure cleanliness standards are met
- Report equipment maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or sanitation issues to supervisors
- Support production readiness by ensuring all areas are clean and prepared for daily operations
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous sanitation, janitorial, manufacturing, warehouse, or food production experience preferred but not required
- Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in a food production or bakery environment
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Experience using cleaning chemicals, sanitation equipment, and pressure washing systems
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
