What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Electrician - Facilities position at TDIndustries?
Essential Duties
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on industrial electrical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical problems involving motors, motor controls, VFDs, pumps, breakers, relays, transformers, panels, lighting, and power distribution systems.
- Install, maintain, and repair conduit, wiring, control panels, disconnects, and related plant electrical infrastructure.
- Inspect, test, and service electrical equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Work with control systems, instrumentation, and PLC-connected equipment to identify and resolve electrical issues.
- Read and interpret blueprints, one-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Support plant shutdowns, emergency repairs, and operational needs as required.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable electrical codes, plant standards, and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with operations and maintenance personnel to identify issues, prioritize work, and reduce equipment downtime.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions accurately.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Journeyman License
Technical degree in related field is preferred.
Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience.
Ability to prioritize tasks, work effectively under stress, and meet short deadlines.
Demonstrates a professional demeanor, positive attitude, and strong work ethic.
Good communication skills (oral and written).
Must be punctual and dependable.
Must have basic computer skills.
