Position Summary
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of Arkitech Metal Stud Rollers used in the production of prefabricated wall panels. This role ensures that studs and tracks are manufactured to engineer-issued panel drawings, produced in the correct sequence, and meet quality and safety standards. The Machine Operator works closely with the Panel Facility Foreman, framing teams, and runners to support seamless workflow, QA/QC compliance, and timely delivery of prefabricated panels.
Key Responsibilities
Arkitech Machine Operation & Sequencing
· Set up, calibrate, and operate the Arkitech Metal Stud Rolling system, including loading coil stock and programming panel production sequences.
· Import and run panel data files directly from engineer-issued panel drawings into the Arkitech software to guide machine output.
· Ensure studs and tracks are rolled, punched, cut, and bundled in the proper order to match project sequencing and delivery requirements.
· Maintain accurate labeling of output to align with framing crew installation needs.
· Coordinate daily sequencing priorities with the Panel Facility Foreman.
Quality Assurance
· Verify rolled studs and tracks for correct gauge, dimensions, punching, and cutting per engineering specifications.
· Conduct QA/QC checks on every run before releasing materials to framing teams.
· Immediately identify and address quality issues such as misalignment, incorrect punch patterns, or material defects.
· Document production runs, quality checks, and any adjustments for traceability.
Safety Management
· Operate the Arkitech roller in compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
· Perform daily pre-shift machine safety checks and enforce lockout/tagout during adjustments or maintenance.
· Ensure all guards, emergency stops, and safety interlocks are in place and functioning.
· Use PPE at all times and promote safe working practices around high-powered machinery.
· Halt operations immediately if unsafe conditions are identified.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
· Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the Arkitech machine, including coil handling systems, cutters, and punching tools.
· Monitor for wear on dies, rollers, and cutting blades, and schedule replacements as needed.
· Troubleshoot mechanical and software issues with guidance from Arkitech support when necessary.
· Keep machine logs up to date for service, maintenance, and repair activities.
Collaboration & Support
· Coordinate with material runners to maintain coil stock supply for uninterrupted production.
· Communicate proactively with framing crews to ensure correct sequencing and panel readiness.
· Support staging and loading teams by ensuring panels are bundled and labeled accurately for delivery.
· Work closely with the Panel Facility Foreman to adjust production output to meet changing project priorities.
Qualifications
· 3 years of experience operating automated manufacturing equipment; experience with Arkitech Metal Stud Rollers strongly preferred.
· Ability to read and interpret engineer-issued panel drawings and translate them into machine programs.
· Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, including troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
· Familiarity with coil-fed forming systems, automated punching, and cutting equipment.
· Understanding of QA/QC procedures in prefabricated panel production.
· Commitment to safety and ability to enforce proper procedures around automated equipment.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work within a production team.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
