Senior Manager Cost Accountant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Manager Cost Accountant to lead our cost management and financial analysis functions. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the development and implementation of cost accounting strategies, ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and drive accurate financial reporting. Duties

• Lead the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including cost analysis, budget variance reports, and cash flow forecasts, ensuring clarity and accuracy for executive review.
• Oversee general ledger accounting activities using ERP systems such as SAP, Sage, Xero, or similar software to maintain precise account reconciliation and balance sheet integrity.
• Manage cost accounting processes including inventory valuation, standard costing, and double entry bookkeeping to support accurate product costing and profitability analysis.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis related to corporate accounting functions, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and accounts reconciliation to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls by implementing effective internal controls over financial reporting processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives to optimize cash flow management and cost control strategies.
• Interpret complex financial reports by translating data into actionable insights for stakeholders while maintaining transparency in all financial report writing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Extensive experience in public accounting or corporate finance roles with a focus on cost management and financial analysis.
• Proven expertise in accounting software such as SAP, QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero, or other ERP systems; familiarity with financial software integration is a plus.
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles, technical accounting standards, debits & credits, account reconciliation procedures, and balance sheet reconciliation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability in forecasting, budgeting, cash flow analysis, and data collection for comprehensive financial planning.
• Knowledge of SOX compliance requirements and experience implementing internal controls over financial reporting processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial reports and provide clear recommendations for improvement.
