Title: Summer Institute Assistant (Temporary Part-Time)

Type of Appointment: Temporary Part-Time
Pay Rate: Starting at $12.00 no experience, $13,00 - 6 months experience, $14.00 - 9 months or more experience (Student Employment Program) or $13.60 for students not in the student employment program
Work Hours: Work up to 25 hours per week
Position Summary: Student employee will assist instructors during the summer institute in the classroom with high school students enrolled in the institute. Students may assist in tutoring, taking/reporting attendance, accompany students to classes, monitor lunch periods, assist in paper work, accompany students and faculty on field trips, assist with closing ceremony.
Duties and Responsibilities:
25% Monitor students during breakfast and lunch
25% Assist in the classroom as directed by instructor
20% Monitor students passing from one class to another
10% Assist with attendance reporting
10% Assist with closing ceremony tasks
5% Assist with distribution of materials
5% Assist with closing ceremony tasks

Required Qualifications:
2 semesters of college completion
(Part-time work experience is calculated at 50% credit of full-time work experience)
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Work Characteristics:
Good listening skills, able to follow directions, patient, attention to detail, takes initiative
