Responsibilities
- Safely operate paratransit vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Assist passengers with boarding and alighting, providing support for those with mobility devices or special needs.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor while communicating clearly with passengers, team members, and dispatchers in English or multilingual settings.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness; report any issues promptly.
- Manage scheduling and route adherence efficiently to ensure timely pickups and drop-offs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing passenger questions, behavior management concerns, and special requests with patience and professionalism.
- Keep accurate logs of trips, passenger details, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with organizational policies.
Experience
- Proven experience preferably within paratransit, senior care transportation.
- Strong communication skills in English
- Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic troubleshooting to support vehicle safety and maintenance.
- Experience working with children or elderly populations demonstrates your ability to handle sensitive situations with care.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to ensure passenger safety and comfort during transit.
- Prior experience in teaching or childcare roles can enhance your ability to connect positively with passengers of all ages.
