Salary Range: $70,560 – $81,000
Position Overview
A globally recognized luxury timepiece manufacturer is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Watchmaker to join its state-of-the-art workshop specializing in the repair and servicing of luxury watches. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about precision craftsmanship, technical excellence, and maintaining the highest quality standards within the watchmaking industry.
The Watchmaker will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and regulating high-end timepieces while ensuring productivity and quality expectations are consistently met. Training will be provided on specific calibers and proprietary systems; however, candidates must possess a watchmaking diploma, certification, or equivalent hands-on experience. All candidates will complete a bench test to evaluate core watchmaking skills prior to hire.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform repairs, servicing, and maintenance on luxury timepieces in accordance with company standards
- Consistently meet departmental quality and productivity expectations
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and safety protocols
- Maintain tools, workstations, and equipment in proper working condition
- Accurately document repair details, movement numbers, case numbers, and service records
- Process repair jobs and workflow trays according to established procedures
- Evaluate watch functionality, diagnose issues, and determine required repairs
- Maintain accurate spare parts usage and inventory documentation
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and proficiency across assigned calibers and repair procedures
Additional Responsibilities May Include
- Decasing and servicing watches
- Cleaning movements and individual components
- Troubleshooting and repairing damaged or worn watch parts
- Adjusting escapements, endshakes, sideshakes, and hairsprings
- Verifying amplitude performance and timing accuracy
- Servicing calendar functions and mechanical complications
- Replacing batteries and conducting non-invasive inspections
- Recording detailed repair notes within internal systems
- Performing quality control inspections following service completion
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in watch repair, precision timing adjustments, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Knowledge of escapement systems, hairspring adjustments, and movement diagnostics
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and dexterity
- Ability to work with precision tools and delicate components
- Comfortable using computer systems for repair documentation and workflow management
- Ability to follow technical procedures and brand-specific repair guidelines
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Diploma or certification from an accredited watchmaking program, or equivalent professional experience
- Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
- Prior luxury watch repair experience is a plus, but not required
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- On-site workshop environment in Long Island City, NY
- Requires close visual attention and fine motor skills
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing precision work
- Occasional lifting or movement of tools and equipment may be required
