A dynamic and hands-on Financial Controller is needed to lead and execute core accounting operations across multiple locations. The Controller will oversee key accounting functions, manage both in-person and remote teams, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting. This position requires a leader who can effectively coordinate across distributed teams and adapt to ongoing process improvements, including centralized accounting initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and support accounting operations across general ledger, accounts payable, and payroll functions
- Lead the period-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial records
- Review account reconciliations and validate supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and deliver internal financial reports and summaries for leadership review
- Evaluate and approve filings and documentation submitted to external regulatory bodies
- Serve as a point of contact for audit-related inquiries, including both internal and external stakeholders
- Authorize disbursements and oversee cash-related controls as needed
- Contribute to annual financial planning and budgeting efforts
- Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management to accounting staff across multiple locations (including remote team members)
- Drive process improvements and support initiatives related to centralizing accounting operations
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment with organizational objectives
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational needs
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading accounting teams, including mentoring and developing staff in both remote and on-site environments
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and relevant reporting standards (e.g., GAAP)
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and organization
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact across all organizational levels
- Comfortable working in a hands-on environment with both strategic and operational responsibilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems
- Bachelor’s degree: Accounting or a related field preferred
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Salary : $125,000 - $130,000
