Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Workforce Development Coordinator to help lead initiatives that empower individuals through comprehensive employment and training programs.
In this role, you will develop, implement, and oversee strategies that foster workforce growth and support diverse populations. You will be part of a team that builds strong partnerships for recruitment from various agencies, as well as developing partnerships for meaningful employment. This is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact by transforming lives through innovative workforce development solutions. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English & Spanish), organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with diverse populations, including youth and adults from vulnerable communities.
Duties
- Maintain and develop partnerships with local organizations and workforce development agencies to maximize class participation
- Lead recruitment efforts by sourcing, interviewing, and selecting candidates for various training and employment initiatives
- Participate in community events, career fairs, and other alike outreach opportunities as needed.
- Guide potential participants during their pursuit of state/government training funding.
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers to understand their workforce needs and to facilitate job placements, internships, and engagement in cohort activities.
- Responsible for student internships/job placements.
- Conduct site visits during the internship period to evaluate the performance of the intern and receive feedback from the employer.
- Monitor program outcomes, prepare reports on progress, and adjust strategies to maximize success rates
- Lead the organization’s alumni engagement efforts through the implementation of targeted activities and communications.
Experience
- Proven experience in workforce development or related fields such as recruitment, talent acquisition, social work, or counseling
- Demonstrated ability working with individuals with with employment and language barriers.
- Skilled in recruiting, interviewing, mentoring, and training staff or program participants
- Background in social work practices or community outreach initiatives is helpful
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across organizations and communities
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to drive throughout the DMV area.
- Experience with data management and generating reports.
