Position: Assistant Secondary Principal (Job Description)

JOB SUMMARY:
To assist the principal in improving academic achievement for students through leading, directing, supervising, and implementing the secondary program within the building and maintaining an inclusive and effective learning climate in the building.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Belief that all students can learn and be successful.
- Ability to promote an environment that challenges and supports all students.
- Deep understanding of various state and national standards, coupled with best instructional practices, to provide a guaranteed and personalized learning experience.
- Ability to engage stakeholders in collaborative conversations for the betterment of the school and larger community.
- Ability to promote an environment that provides supportive accountability for all staff members.
- Clear, concise, and effective oral and written communication skills.
CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Valid PA Teaching Certification required.
- Master’s Degree – Educational Leadership or Administration required.
- Valid PA Principal K-12 Certification required.
- 5-7 years of successful secondary teaching experience; experience at the secondary level as an administrator; experience as a counselor, psychologist, social worker, or school disciplinarian required.
