Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical desires an experienced Staff Accountant to support the Company’s various revenue accounting processes. Reporting to the Associate Director, Revenue, the Staff Accountant participates in the recording and analysis of daily operational revenue accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, SOX, and external audits. This person will work closely with the accounting team in the analysis and reconciliation of accounts and will support the advancement of accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
Qualified candidates must have the ability to execute multiple tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment and must remain open to new projects and/or responsibilities as the business evolves. Candidates must have strong attention to detail, problem solving, and time management skills. They must be proactive and deadline oriented.
Work Model:
Flex: This role will typically require onsite work 3 days each week or more depending on business needs. In many locations, the business will set certain days each week that Flex employees are required to be onsite.
Responsibilities:
- All trade receivables cash applications
- Review of sales to supporting documentation in accordance with ASC 606
- Ownership of the Customer Master process (customer set-up and modifications)
- Ownership of the Customer Price List and customer credit limit reviews
- Order-to-cash documentation and review
- Weekly sales check and reconciliation
- AR Aging reporting
- Related audit support for all above items
- Demonstrate proficiency with Oracle EBS and proactively work to improve the interaction with all financial systems
- Make and implement recommendations to improve accounting processes and procedures
- Work in a precise and efficient manner and execute assigned tasks within agreed upon deadlines

Technical Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
- 5 years relevant accounting experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel: pivot tables, xlookup, etc
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skill
- Must have working knowledge of GAAP
- Must have excellent communication, customer service and team support skills
- This role will require onsite work 3 or more days of the week
- Experience with large ERP systems (e.g., Oracle/SAP) strongly desired
- Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical environment a plus
