Position Overview: Reporting to the General Manager, Taymar Sales U.’s Account Executive (Sponsorship) position will be responsible for a significant portion of the corporate sponsorship sales revenue at Austin Peay State University. The successful candidate will be an active and energetic individual whose duties include generating revenue via traditional corporate sponsorship and multi-media platforms through consultative outbound activity. Corporate sponsorship responsibilities include renewal and management of existing accounts, new business development, achievement of sales goals, activation and fulfillment, and consistent relationship building within the community.

Responsibilities:

Operate as a Sponsorship Sales expert for Austin Peay, to include the following:

  • Execute all aspects of the typical Sponsorship sales process: prospecting, building/presenting sales presentations, creating/negotiating contracts, upselling/renewing current partners, sponsor year-end recaps, and servicing of all corporate partner agreements, etc
  • Implementation of strategies and approaches to the evolving corporate partnership program, as well as initiatives designed to complement other revenue generation goals designed to compliment Annual Giving and Ticket Sales
  • Actively collaborate with team leadership to stay aligned with overarching strategies, while implementing successful corporate partnership packages and agreements, which include new and innovative methods of inventory pricing and asset allocation, as well as the creation of new assets
  • Ensure activation of corporate sponsorship accounts from commitment through execution, ensuring fulfillment and activation of all obligations
  • Actively prospect and network in the community and build relationships that drive successful partnerships
  • Must be self-starter and able to work evenings and weekends when team functions take place
  • This is a salaried position, with bonus provisions. It is not a commission-based sales role

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Sports Marketing, Advertising, or a related field preferred.
  • 2 years sponsorship sales experience preferred
  • Strong grasp of the sports sponsorship landscape, including traditional and non-traditional inventory and assets
  • Comfort with business development activities and ability to build relationships quickly.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter, as well as collaboratively with a larger and extended team.
  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, integrity, communication skills, and desire & ability to learn in a fast paced, highly competitive industry
  • This is an on-site role and will actively collaborate with other revenue generation personnel, as well as team leadership
