DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Director of Business Development is a quota-carrying sales role responsible for generating new business and expanding Nutra-Med's client base across the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. This individual contributor role is focused on prospecting, building client relationships, and closing deals. While the title reflects a senior level of responsibility, the position does not include direct supervisory duties.
Responsibilities
- Drive new business growth by identifying, targeting, and acquiring pharmaceutical, biotech, and healthcare accounts.
- Develop and manage a pipeline of qualified opportunities through proactive outreach, networking, and industry engagement.
- Present Nutra-Med's packaging capabilities, services, and value proposition to decision-makers, including procurement, supply chain, and commercial leaders.
- Lead negotiations and manage the full sales cycle—from lead generation through contract execution.
- Collaborate with internal operations, project management, and quality teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding and delivery.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform sales strategy.
- Represent Nutra-Med at trade shows, conferences, and industry events.
- Consistently meet or exceed quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Gather requirements for projects for the quoting and packaging phases.
- Daily management of CRM tool.
- Tracking and monitoring of the market with respect to competition, market dynamics and technological developments.
- Other duties as assigned by the CCO.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 7 years of experience in B2B sales, ideally within pharmaceuticals, contract packaging, CDMO, or healthcare services.
Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.
Strong understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain, regulatory, and commercial dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to travel as required (domestic and/or international).
- Should be able to occasionally lift a maximum of 45 lbs.
