We are a metal building components manufacturer serving contractors, fabricators, and industrial customers throughout the West Coast. Our Sacramento facility operates purlin mills, roll formers, folders, and coil-processing equipment to produce high‑quality structural components with tight tolerances and dependable lead times. We are a growing company, and we are looking for a skilled Purlin Mill Operator to join our production team.
Position Overview
The Purlin Mill Operator is responsible for safely operating roll‑forming equipment to produce C‑ and Z‑purlins to specification. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Work Shift: Day or Night Shift
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and monitor purlin roll‑forming mills
- Read and interpret production orders, cut lists, and measurement specs
- Perform coil changes, threading, and machine adjustments
- Verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and gauges
- Conduct routine quality checks and document production data
- Perform basic troubleshooting and communicate mechanical issues
- Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout
- Assist with material handling, bundling, and staging finished product
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Compensation & Benefits
- $22.00 - $37.00 / hour depending on experience

Qualifications
- Hands on experience operating purlin mills, roll formers, or similar metal‑forming equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to learn machine operation
- Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, and production specs
- Comfortable working around heavy machinery
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
Preferred Experience
- Knowledge of C/Z purlin profiles, punching patterns, and gauge ranges
- Experience with coil-fed equipment
- Forklift certification
- Basic maintenance or troubleshooting skills
