Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to work directly alongside our attorneys and play a vital role in our litigation team. Bringing 3 years of personal injury and litigation experience to our highly collaborative team, you will be a driving force behind detailed case development and management, navigating court timelines, supporting critical legal drafting.

Position Responsibilities:

Client Communications & Relationship Management

• Deliver a "White-Glove" Experience: Serve as the primary, empathetic point of contact for clients, ensuring they feel supported, heard, and valued throughout the lifespan of their case.
• Proactive Updates: Maintain a regular communication cadence to keep clients informed of their case status, upcoming deadlines, other expected timelines, and maintaining client confidence.
• Expectation Management: Translate complex insurance, case, or legal processes into clear, understandable language for clients, helping guide them through recovery, litigation phases, and settlement discussions.

Information Gathering & Case Development

• Comprehensive Fact-Finding: Investigate and gather all necessary evidence for every client's case.
• Medical & Billing Tracking: Actively request, track, and review medical records and billing statements to maintain accurate ledgers and accurate injury records.
• Damage Documentation: Assist clients in gathering additional documentation for other economic and non-economic damages.

Utah Litigation Processes & Court Filing

• URCP Compliance: Navigate The Utah Rules of Civil Procedure, particularly related to tiered discovery limits and strict deadlines.
• Legal Drafting & Discovery: Support drafting motions, and comprehensive URCP Initial Disclosures, prepare and draft responses to Interrogatories, Requests for Production of Documents, and Requests for Admissions, etc.
• Court Coordination: Manage e-filing processes within the Utah State Courts system. Coordinate and schedule depositions, ADR/mediations, and other necessary court proceedings.

File Organization & Case Management

• Impeccable File Maintenance: Keep client files highly organized, up-to-date, and chronologically structured within our case management system.
• Medical Chronologies: Prepare detailed medical chronologies and summaries that highlight key injuries & treatments, gaps in care, and future medical needs for the attorney's review.
• Demand Preparation: Compile holistic settlement demand packages, including drafting the initial demand letter, organizing supporting exhibits, calculating medical specials, and building a robust economic & non-economic damage model for the attorney's review.
• Expert Negotiations & Coordination: Leverage deep industry knowledge to engage in high-level, strategic negotiations with insurance adjusters. Acting as the unwavering advocate for the victim, firmly protecting their best interests in recovery.
• Deadline Tracking: Meticulously manage the attorney's calendar, ensuring no statute of limitations, discovery deadline, or court appearance is ever missed.

Position Qualifications:

Required Experience: 3 years of dedicated, hands-on personal injury and litigation experience.

Hablas Español? While not required, fluency in Spanish is a highly valued asset!

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate practical, working knowledge in the following areas:

Personal Injury Case Management & Case Lifecycle:

• Proven ability to confidently drive a case forward from initial intake through final settlement
• Expertise in compiling comprehensive demand packages and engaging in strategic, high-level negotiations with insurance adjusters to ensure you're protecting what's in the client's best interest for their recovery.
• Strong organizational skills to meticulously maintain digital case files and track critical deadlines.

Litigation Lifecycle:

• Deep, practical understanding of Utah court processes, strict deadlines, and the Utah Rules of Civil Procedure.
• Hands-on experience with legal drafting (including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests/responses).
• Proficiency in state e-filing systems, scheduling, and thorough case preparation.

High-Level Client Communication & Delivery:

• Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver compassionate and empathetical service to victims of injury.
• Experience proactively updating clients, managing their expectations, and translating complex legal processes into clear, understandable guidance.

Basic Understanding of Medical Records & Bills

• Basic ability in reading, analyzing, and organizing medical records, images, bills, etc.
• Ability to accurately compile and understand special ledgers, track out-of-pocket expenses, and draft detailed medical chronologies that highlight critical treatments, gaps in care, and future medical needs.

Provider Communication:

• Experience communication directly and effectively with medical providers, clinics, and billing departments.
• Practical knowledge of tracking provider liens, health insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid information.
• Ability to coordinate seamlessly with expert witnesses, ensuring they have necessary materials and meet reporting deadlines.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
