Overview

A commercial real estate organization is seeking a Paralegal - Litigation & Collections to support lease enforcement and rent recovery efforts across a property portfolio. This role sits within Accounts Receivable and focuses on managing delinquent tenant accounts through legal collections, litigation, bankruptcy, and post-judgment enforcement processes.

This is a hybrid legal and business-facing role suited for candidates with experience in landlord-tenant litigation, creditor-side enforcement, or legal collections, who are comfortable working at the intersection of legal processes and financial recovery.

What You’ll Do

Lease Enforcement & Collections

• Manage delinquent tenant accounts through the full recovery lifecycle
• Prepare and issue demand letters, default notices, payment agreements, and settlement documentation
• Partner with internal teams to resolve billing disputes and payment issues
• Track rent recovery status, payment plans, and account updates in internal systems

Litigation & Bankruptcy Support

• Draft and prepare legal documents including complaints, motions, affidavits, and court filings
• Coordinate with outside counsel on active litigation and bankruptcy matters
• Track case deadlines, court appearances, and procedural milestones
• Prepare exhibits, damages support, and documentation for filings and hearings

Post-Judgment & Enforcement

• Support judgment enforcement efforts including asset research and recovery tracking
• Assist with garnishments, settlements, and collection of outstanding balances
• Maintain accurate records of enforcement actions and case progression

Case Management & Administration

• Maintain organized legal and account files across active matters
• Prepare internal reporting and status updates for leadership
• Ensure deadlines, filings, and documentation are completed accurately and on time
• Communicate with attorneys, tenants, and internal stakeholders as needed

What We’re Looking For

• 3 years of experience in litigation support, legal collections, landlord-tenant law, or creditor-side enforcement
• Strong experience drafting legal documents and managing court filings (state and/or federal)
• Familiarity with rent recovery, eviction, foreclosure, or post-judgment enforcement processes strongly preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with legal and financial components
• Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple active matters
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal or case management systems

Preferred Experience

• Commercial real estate, lease enforcement, or tenant litigation experience
• Law firm or in-house legal department experience supporting collections or enforcement matters
• Exposure to bankruptcy, garnishment, or judgment enforcement work
• Paralegal certificate or legal studies background
