Role Description

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production team.  The primary role involves supervising and coordinating daily production activities to drive efficient results. Responsible for continuous improvement and Quality and Food Safety. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload; recommends changes in plant production practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead the production team to ensure daily operational success.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to Quality and Food Safety standards.
• Manage and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) across the production floor.
• Maintain finished product specifications and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Assist with product traceability efforts and recall procedures when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to promote teamwork and operational efficiency.
• Report employee absences, workplace issues, accidents, and policy violations to the Production Manager.
• Coordinate with Maintenance to ensure mechanical issues are reported and resolved promptly.
• Review customer comments daily and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Train and develop a backup employee to support operational continuity during absences.
• Ensure the team consistently meets productivity and efficiency goals.
• Monitor labor usage and control overtime as needed.
• Ensure all new hires and current employees receive proper training.
• Oversee production schedules to ensure truck departure times and customer deadlines are met.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Assist in reducing and controlling production waste.
• Meet all established company performance and operational standards.
• Maintain reliable attendance in accordance with Taylor Farms attendance expectations.
• Follow and enforce all GMP and PPE requirements established by Taylor Farms.
• Follow and enforce all safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Perform any additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the Production Manager.

Work Experience Requirements:

·      Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a supervisor position

·      Previous foodservice manufacturing experience preferred. Previous Manufacturing experience is required.

·      Bi-lingual English and/or Spanish, oral and written, communication skills are desired

·      Ability to complete necessary paperwork in a neat and timely fashion

·      Meet established standards for quality and productivity

·      Ability to maintain a high degree of morale

·      Ability to follow all company policies and procedures
