This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams to analyze current processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Job Summary:
The Continuous Improvement Coordinator assists with manufacturing and/or operational costs. This role champions plant manufacturing projects that support increased productivity, operating efficiencies, Food Safety and Quality programs, and works to reduce Total Cost of Ownership as well. The CI Coordinator will be expected to identify opportunities, present solutions and drive execution of continuous improvement plans for maximum ROI, using proven TQM and Lean Manufacturing solutions. The CI Coordinator will be responsible for the focus of CI training projects including preparing new hires for their roles.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focusing on operational excellence and process optimization
- Prepare new hires for entry into their positions (providing PPE, Review of position, workday plans, tour of work areas, etc.).
- Deliver new hires to their assigned work areas and positions.
- Create job breakdown sheets (JBS) and OPL (one-point lessions) for various productions roles.
- Assist Managers/Supervisors with translating needs.
- Manage and update various CI reports and training projects.
- Conduct comprehensive quarterly Safety/Food training via LMS system.
-Assist with RedZone application and projects.
-Utilize Various available Technologies and tools to enhance training directives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans
- Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and root causes of inefficiencies
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and eliminate waste
- Assist with developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent processes across departments
- Train employees on continuous improvement methodologies and tools
- Monitor and track progress of improvement initiatives, ensuring timely completion and desired outcomes
- Assist with other various administrative functions as needed.
Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering or related field preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in process improvement, ideally in a food manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge and experience with process improvement techniques, including root cause analysis and value stream mapping
- Proven ability to adapt CI principles to an organization’s unique culture, environment, employees, and priorities
- Training and/or certification in continuous improvement (or ability to pursue Sigma Green Belt (IASSC)) is desired
- Working knowledge of packaging and processing technology, specifically in food manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Experience with training and the ability to teach concepts and practices to facility
- Skilled in root cause analysis techniques
- Able to think strategically and creatively
- Able to effectively analyze and interpret data
- Able to prioritize and meet deadlines, and to manage multiple various projects with sense of urgency
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Able to handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to promote a team environment
- Ability to elicit cooperation from variety of sources, including senior management, plant operations team members, and others
- Able to work collaboratively with employees in a variety of departments and build consensus around key initiatives
- Must be hands-on, high energy, flexible, and responsive to a dynamic work environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Bilingual Skills (English/Spanish) is desired and a plus!!
