Work Experience Requirements:
- HACCP – Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point formalized training
- 1-2 years of QA experience preferred
- Working knowledge of GMP’s and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Word, Excel, and Access experience required
- Spanish preferred, but not required
Summary:
This is a 2nd Shift Position. Under the direct supervision of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the Quality assurance lead shall perform duties as deemed necessary to provide a high quality and food safe product that meets and exceeds our customers overall expectations. Assists the Quality Assurance Supervisor, in monitoring all Food Quality and Food Safety Programs with a focus inspections, direct observations, micro sampling and testing, document review, product evaluations and related training activities as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor and enforce all GMP / Food Safety compliance. Ensure affected department is notified immediately during deviations.
- Monitor Quality Assurance checks and ensure quality compliance through the plant. Ensure Production is notified immediately during deviations.
- Enforce proper use of PPE and OSHA Guidelines
- Lead and Coordinate Quality Assurance technicians on the floor
- Mentor and train QA techs on all quality, food safety and personnel safety guidelines
- Work closely with other departments leads to ensure quality and food safety practices are met
- Collect and ship daily microbiological sampling for raw and finished product
- Monitor and enforce all GMP / Food Safety compliance
- Review, date and sign daily HACCP CCP documentation if necessary
- Conduct QA lead daily checklist
- Conduct Pre-Op Inspection or appointed to alternate QA Technician – document corrective actions as necessary
- ATP Pre-Operational Environmental swabs and complete trend analysis report
- Conduct non-Conforming product investigation and write report
- Prepare and ship customer samples as requested
- Prepare and ship environmental samples to lab
- Conduct Direct Observations of quality and food safety checks
- Inspect raw material in question
- Ensure Shelf life retains are being sampled, reviewed and reported per the TFTN Shelf life SOP
- Perform calibration of laboratory equipment / sign off form
- Assume the role of QA supervisor in their absence
