Job Title: Camp Therapist
Location: Groveland, CA
Compensation: $817/week, plus room and board
Dates: May 31 – August 8, 2026 (full-summer commitment) or 2-3 week options.
The camp therapists are available to staff and campers for emotional support and guidance. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Camper Management and Support
Meet with campers and provide care based on their needs.
Collaborate with staff in order to improve their ability to work with children. Share with counselors and unit heads key information that will help them support campers to be more successful at camp. Coach counselors and unit heads as needed.
Provide direct service to campers and their families, including referrals, as indicated.
Keep confidential written records of camper visits.
Observe campers who are struggling and advise unit heads and directors accordingly.
Meet with inclusion counselors weekly and provide coaching about how to support campers with high needs.
Make CPS reports and police reports as needed.
Speak with parents as needed.
Offer wellness activities for Camper
Staff Case Management
Act as a resource for staff in need of advice, guidance and/or support.
Provide professional and personal support to staff as needed.
Report staff patterns and any large concerns to your at-camp supervisor.
Report specifics if safety or job skill is an issue.
Provide groups when needed.
Provide referrals for after-camp support as needed.
Help staff find private places to have Zoom therapy sessions with outside providers.
Director Support
Provide insight and support to the director team regarding staff and camper mental and emotional health.
Attend daily 5:00PM Management Team meetings.
Meet weekly with Inclusion Counselors to provide additional support and guidance on supporting the campers that they work with.
Camp Support
Participate in camp activities, when needed.
Be available and onsite to support the emotional wellbeing of campers and staff.
