Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure resident health and safety
- Support residents with medication administration following proper protocols and documentation procedures
- Provide compassionate care tailored to individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other cognitive disabilities
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and mobility
- Engage residents in social activities, group exercises, and recreational programs to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Maintain cleanliness of resident areas and adhere to infection control standards to ensure a hygienic environment
Skills
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care environments with a focus on geriatrics or memory care
- Strong knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's support strategies, and behavior management techniques
- Ability to perform safe patient lifting practices and manual handling with heavy lifting when necessary
- Familiarity with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems for documentation and communication
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents and their families
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications to respond effectively during emergencies
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is highly desirable
