Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive athletic program that aligns with the school’s educational goals and values.
- Oversee all aspects of athletic operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and facility management.
- Recruit, hire, and evaluate coaches and staff, ensuring they adhere to district policies and state regulations.
- Promote student participation in athletics and encourage a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among student-athletes.
- Organize and oversee athletic events, including competitions, tournaments, and fundraisers.
- Collaborate with school administration, faculty, and parents to support the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and ensure compliance with eligibility requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, alumni, and local businesses to support athletic initiatives.
- Stay current with trends and changes in high school athletics, including rule changes and safety protocols.
- Prepare reports and provide updates to the school board and administration regarding the status and needs of the athletic program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Previous experience in athletic administration, coaching, or related roles at the high school or collegiate level.
- Strong knowledge of high school athletics, including rules and regulations governing competition and eligibility.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
Salary : $47,000 - $50,000
