JOB TITLE: First Article Inspector
EXEMPT STATUS: Hourly - Non-Exempt
POSITION PURPOSE: The purpose of this position is to perform first article inspections and process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ) in relation to customer requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform first article inspections
- Recommend and develop inspection methods using manual, vision and automated inspection precision metrology equipment
- Perform and prepare reports for first article, capability studies and gage R & R studies
- Read and interpret customer specifications and blueprints containing both linear and geometrically toleranced features
- Assist with delegating inspection related tasks (Gage R&R, capability studies) to Quality Inspectors and Quality Technicians
- Aware of ISO and regulatory requirements
- Maintain confidentiality for customers
- Follow all safety policies
- Other duties as directed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Lifting up to 20 pounds
- Office setting but may be exposed to extreme temperatures and loud noise on the floor
REPORTS TO: Quality Engineer
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- High school or equivalent required
- 2 year technical preferred
Related Experience:
- Must have 2 years experience in inspection of injection molded components
- Ability to read and interpret blue prints and specifications
- Previous experience performing FAIs required
- Minitab or equivalent statistical software preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Basic knowledge of inspection processes and manufacturing systems
- Must have basic knowledge of Quality principles
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Ability to work within a team
- Must have problem-solving skills
- Proficient in basic computer applications such as MS Office

Pay: $22.00 - $32.00 per hour
