Position Overview

Precise Power Systems (PPS) is seeking a motivated Inside Sales / Business Development professional to support our growing portfolio of engineered power systems, containerized modules, and marine defense solutions. This role will support the sales pipeline by coordinating proposals, assisting with customer communications, and working closely with engineering and operations to move opportunities from initial inquiry through proposal and contract award. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of understanding technical systems and translating customer needs into clear project scopes and proposals. This position is based at our Howell, Michigan headquarters and works closely with leadership, engineering, and manufacturing teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Sales & Business Development

  • Support sales growth by identifying and developing new business opportunities
  • Manage incoming customer inquiries and technical requests
  • Assist with preparing quotes, proposals, and budgetary estimates
  • Coordinate proposal inputs from engineering, procurement, and production teams
  • Maintain and update the sales opportunity pipeline

 

Customer Engagement

  • Serve as a primary contact for customer communications and follow-ups
  • Coordinate meetings, facility visits, and project kickoff discussions
  • Develop relationships with customers across marine defense, industrial, and energy markets
  • Willing to Travel - Support trade shows, industry events, and marketing initiatives

 

Proposal & Contract Support

  • Prepare technical proposals, cost summaries, and bid documentation
  • Track RFQs, RFPs, and government solicitations
  • Support pricing strategy and competitive analysis
  • Assist leadership with strategic pursuit planning

 

Internal Coordination

  • Work closely with engineering, fabrication, and project management teams
  • Help translate technical scope into clear customer deliverables
  • Support project kickoff and transition from sales to execution

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required)
  • 2 years experience in sales, business development, project coordination, or technical support
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical systems and engineered products
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial equipment, marine systems, power generation, or defense sector
  • Familiarity with government contracting or defense primes
  • Experience working with technical proposals or engineered systems
  • CRM or sales pipeline management experience

 

Compensation & Benefits

Your compensation will be based on the following program:

Base Salary:
$55,000 – $62,000 annually

Bonus Program:
Up to 10% of base salary based on individual and company performance

Vacation:
10 days PTO, accrued each pay period

Benefits:
