Description
The Market Facilities Manager helps inspire genuine attachment to each café and serves café and bakery operational teams by overseeing and managing the functionality and wellbeing of all Tatte facilities. Reporting to the VP of Development and Construction, the Facilities Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing facility-related preventative maintenance tasks, facility audits, vendor relationships, work-order management, and special projects management. The Market Facilities Manager is an organized, safety-focused, and customer service-oriented team member that our café and bakery teams trust to proactively maintain facilities and promptly resolve facilities issues as they arise.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Primarily responsible for the oversight of facilities in the growing DC Market.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with café and bakery operational teams.
- Oversees planning, management, and execution of all preventative maintenance and repairs to café and bakery spaces, systems, and equipment
- Ensures efficient, safe, legally compliant, and good working conditions of multiple 24-hour facilities (including but not limited to food service equipment, walk-in refrigeration units, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, cleaning services, security systems, and pest control services) by conducting on-site facility audits and walkthroughs at regular intervals throughout the year.
- Management of budgets for vendor preventative maintenance contracts, repairs, and capital projects.
- Leads management of special projects related to improving, expanding, relocating, or otherwise changing existing or new Tatte facilities.
- Performs walkthroughs of development projects to facilitate future maintenance.
- Regularly evaluates facility maintenance requirements to identify opportunities for construction team to improve safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of future Tatte facilities.
- Manage and oversee web-based work order system.
- Manage all facilities-related vendor invoice approval.
- Obtains, reviews, negotiates, and approves (within significant approval authority range) price quotes for the procurement of parts, services, and labor for projects.
- Responsible for the management and renewal of permits and licenses for all Tatte facilities in the DC Market.
- Conducts with financial/business analysis and reports related to all Tatte facilities, including but not limited to facility equipment expenses, maintenance issues, and longevity.
- Create, maintain, manage, and evaluate vendor relationships and performance.
- Makes regular visits to development sites in construction and works with the Construction Team to monitor progress.
- Be on call to address emergency situations 24 hours/day.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions / Essential Functions

- Must be able to work in small and occasionally crowded spaces.
Position Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Minimum of four years of related experience and/or training.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to recognize urgent situations and respond accordingly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information, respond to sensitive issues, and provide great customer service.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to prioritize projects and tasks.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet/internet.
- Ability to use and leverage all features of work order system (Service Channel experience preferred).
- Familiarity with legal contracts, such as leases and service agreements.
- Able to read construction plans/documents, technical specifications, and schematics and working knowledge of architectural, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Ability and willingness to work days, nights or weekends as required by the business.
Preferred Skills, Experience and/or Credentials
- Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree with focus on technical and engineering skills.
- Facility Management certification (e.g., IFMA-CFM).
- Supervisory experience.
- Hospitality facility experience.
- Basic carpentry skills.

Salary : $82,000 - $110,000
