Process Safety Engineer

NOTE: This is a 4-6 months assignment located in Geismar, LA. Seeking local talent. No per diem, no relo.
Summary:
This position will be reporting to the Superintendent, Process Engineering, the Engineer, Process will work under the direction of the Process Engineering Superintendent to accomplish plant objectives in the priority areas Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, Production, Efficiency, Cost Reduction, and Innovation. The successful candidate for this role demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, effectively engaging with both company and contract employees. They possess the ability to mentor junior engineers while fostering cross-functional collaboration and are adept at conflict resolution to promote teamwork. Highly organized and capable of prioritizing multiple projects, they adapt quickly to changing needs and maintain a goal-oriented, self-motivated approach, working independently when required. With a steadfast commitment to safety, integrity and operational excellence, they bring strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to ensure successful outcomes.
Qualifications include:
Minimum 5 years engineering experience in the chemical process industry
Experience in Ammonia and Nitrogen-based fertilizer operations highly desirable.
Proficiency with HYSYS and other process modeling software.
Ability to analyze financial and cost data to develop sound conclusions and recommendations.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with engineering software tools.
Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred: Engineering software and tools, HYSYS
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
