What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surface Maintenance Foreperson position at Tata Chemicals?
Supervises and coordinates activities of bargaining unit employees engaged in setting up, dismantling, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools.
Directs subordinates in electrical, instrumentation, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment and in dismantling, assembling and installing industrial machinery.
Assists in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists subordinates in solving work problems. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to subordinates and assigns duties. Requisitions and keeps supply of spare parts.
Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
Interprets Company policies to subordinates and enforces safety regulations. Ensures compliance with labor agreement and addresses complaints at the initial step of the grievance procedure.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew. Initiates or suggests plans to motivate subordinates to achieve work goals. Maintains time and production records.
Bachelor's degree in related field and 2-3 years’ experience; or 5-7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
