What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mine Mechanic position at Tata Chemicals?
Position Summary:
The Mine Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for all repairs and services associated with the heavy industrial mining equipment. Successful candidate must be able to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.
Key Responsibilities:
· Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy industrial mining equipment
· Plate and pipe arc welding
· Provide constant evaluation of equipment condition and acceptable standards for mechanical maintenance
· Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems
· Ensure compliance with relevant company health & safety policies and procedures, as well as government regulations
Preferred Education and Experience:
· Associate degree or approved certification in mechanical maintenance or welding discipline from an accredited technical college or university OR journeyman license in the ironworks, millwrights or mechanic disciplines with 2 years of experience in maintenance for a continuous manufacturing, chemical processing, or mining industry or 4 years’ experience in industrial mechanical maintenance in continuous manufacturing, chemical processing or mining industry
· Underground mine maintenance experience is preferred
· Mechanical knowledge and ability as demonstrated through written and practical testing
